Embracing a More Childlike Spirit

Embracing a More Childlike Spirit
Do you remember when you were a child and longing to be a part of the adult world?
Between the freedom of driving, having a boyfriend or girlfriend, getting married, having children, and general desire to do all the things that adults do. Adulthood always appeared to be the next best thing.

So much so that when you were in elementary school, you looked up to the middle school children, who were all up in the high school kids' faces, who were counting down the days till they would be college students.

If only someone told us then what we know now.

I actually did have someone telling me to slow down and stop trying to be an adult so fast. But did I listen? NO. I was moving so quickly to the point of wishing I could go back and have a do-over.

While adulthood brings new and exciting joys, it also comes at a price, both literally and figuratively. Beyond the cost of rent, insurance, gas, taxes, and other bills, in the transition from childhood to adulthood, people have paid the unspoken price of their childlike wonder. Somehow, society has led us to believe that being an adult means leaving behind that capacity for curiosity and fun.

Can we all agree that adulthood is way too serious?

There is an overemphasis on occupation, achievement, success, and a general lack of enjoyment and gratitude for life. Embracing a more childlike spirit will allow you to achieve incredible success and live a more meaningful, enjoyable life.
